The third assignment was rather an enjoyable one because we had to take 3 photos each for 5 different themes - Lines, Rule Of Thirds, Balance, Simplicity And Framing. And I got some of my friends to help me pose for the photos.

1. Balance
Because my friend, Farhan, is standing on the left side of the photo and there are a few plants on the right side of the photo, this makes the photo balanced.

Here, Farhan is standing on the right side of the photo which has a rather dull grey-ish background. However, the right side of the photo has a bright blue pattern on it, thus, making the photo balanced.

In this photo, Farhan and Taufiq are sitting on two different benches on opposite sides of the photo.

2.Framing

This photo was taken near the skate park at SP in one of the booths nearby. The windows of the booth act as a frame to frame Taufiq.

The pillars around Amirah frames her.

3. Lines

These are the lines of a rather circular table at home.

These are the lines of one of the dining table at home.

These lines were actually taken of the t-shirt that my brother was wearing.

4. Rule Of Thirds
All three photos show a person on either the left or the right side of the photo, causing rule of thirds.

5. Simplicity

All of these photos are just focused on one object, thus shows simplicity.

During this lesson, I learned how to take better photos involving lines, balance, rule of thirds, simplicity and framing. This assignment was rather enjoyable as I got to go around SP and also find items in my house that I could snap photos of.
For the second assignment, we had two tasks to do. One of which involved drawing a textile of

1. something that represents ourselves

I'm really sure if you can tell but this is actually a rainbow. I drew a rainbow because rainbows are really colourful and in my opinion, i feel that all the 7 different colours tell a different story and that's what i feel.

2. something from the surroundings

since this assignment was done during lesson time, we were in a classroom so i looked around and saw one of my classmate's bag which has sort of a quilted pattern on it and i thought it was really cute.

and lastly, 3. a futuristic or modern/creative texture

i decided to draw a modern/creative texture which is random moustaches. I have noticed that moustache print is an "in" thing right now. You can find moustache prints on bags, t shirts, pencil cases and even files. I think why people like moustache prints is that because it is rather random and really unique. Who would have thought moustaches could be cute?

Before lesson ended, Mr Victor told us to snap a photo of the red bridge at CASS and to sketch it out.

As seen in the sketch, I'm not really a good artist and i took rather long to draw this and it also involved lots of eraser dust laying around on my table. There was a lot of lines in the photo which made it extremely hard to draw and making it hard to differentiate which line belongs to which pillar.

During this second lesson, I learnt a lot more about textures and lines and also how perspective matters. I also really hope to improve on my sketches as the lesson goes by.

For the first assignment, we had to do sketches on some images and here are the photos that I sketched.

This is my sketch of the Heffalump(?) from the Pooh movie. I was told that we had to follow try and roughly draw the shapes that make up the elephant first, for example, the circular head and body. It was actually quite a challenge tho.

This is my other sketch which also involves drawing the shapes that make up the character. Personally, i feel that drawing the Panda was harder than drawing the elephant because of the extremely round body of the panda and also the other really curvy parts of the body.

The next task involved drawing one of the three figures as shown above. I picked the one in the middle because of its straight posture and I felt that it wouldn't be such a great challenge. This task was definitely easier than the first because not many shapes were involved in this.

The next task was to copy the image of this rose. Since this was mainly just copying it, I felt that this task was rather manageable.

Another one of tasks was to ask someone to sign their name on a sheet of paper and try to "copy" the lines used in the signature. Since I wasn't present on that day, I asked my mother to write her signature and I tried to "copy" it as shown above. Her signature was made up of mostly curvy lines, which wasn't really that hard to trace.

I was also told that we had to draw this particular puppy, but mainly focusing on the silhouette.

Our final assignment was to draw out our partner in class but since I wasn't present, I took a photo of a  friend and drew him. It wasn't tough to draw the silhouette but when it came to drawing the facial features, it was actually a struggle for me, as you can tell.
