TSHIRT DESIGN

So, the first CA assignment that was given to us was to design a staff t-shirt for a company. This included the logo, mascot and the t-shirt design. I wanted something that was more trendy, and rather simple yet fun so I looked up online on designs of t-shirts.

Most of the t-shirt designs here are rather simple but what caught my eye most are these two photos with bold text and striking print on a simple white background.

Therefore, I decided to imprint a bold text for the logo and came up with some of these.

I wasn't sure between "rebelle" or "vanite" for the logo name but finally decided on "rebelle" which stands for rebel in french.  After much contemplation, I picked this font for the final logo.

The final thing left was to get a striking design to overlay in the font. Therefore, I went to research on some designs. I was thinking of floral designs or contrast colours like pink and black.
Most of the designs were made in Adobe Illustrator. But I decided to stick with the floral design which I found online.

As for the mascot, my initial plan was to have a peacock mascot since I was unsure about the name yet. I actually thought of "vanite" which stands for vanity in french and I thought that a peacock would be a suitable animal to represent vanity. I was also thinking of a silhouette mascot to show simplicity. But however, after much discussion, a silhouette mascot would not have been a great idea because it would not be attractive enough.
Finally, I decided on a cat mascot. Ms Sng suggested a cute mascot to capture attention, so I went on with googly eyes for the mascot.

My final product was this cat here, which was drawn using Adobe Illustrator.

This project was rather difficult at first as I was really new to Adobe Illustrator at that time. It was difficult to get used to but after much effort and time, it was easier and to be honest, a lot of fun and all the hard work that was put in paid off. :-)
